1971 Eriba Puck Restoration

Vince Ordonez

I am helping some good customers of mine restore a 1971 Eriba Puck. This two person camper was made to be lightweight and packed with features. More information on the history of this camper can be found here:

The camper has been sitting in my shop for year waiting for me to get to it. I will say that my customers have been more than patient. The reason for the delay is that I needed the entire shop space for this project and did not want to be distracted by other jobs. Working on this during my slow period allows me to really enjoy the work.

Eriba Puck campers were designed to be very lightweight and the builders of these campers reduced weight everywhere they could. This meant that they had to sacrifice durability for weight reduction.

The best thing my customers did was replace the original axle and tires with a new heavy duty setup. The original camper frame was welded on the new axle frame and this allowed us to beef up the floor and use thicker wood that will withstand heavy use.
